Jen Violette, Bio



        Jen Violette began working with glass when
she was 19 during her sophomore year at Alfred
University, and received her BFA from Alfred in
1994. She has studied at Rhode Island School of
Design, Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain
School of Crafts, The Studio at the Corning Museum
of Glass and Penland School of Crafts. Her teachers
include Lino Tagliapietra, William Morris, Dante
Marioni, Richard Marquis, Pino Signoretto, Randy
Walker and Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen.
        Currently, Jen and her husband, John Gerding
are living on a small farm in southern Vermont,
where they are converting their 100 year old post
and beam barn into Jen’s glass studio. Jen is an
avid gardener, and draws great inspiration for her
pieces from her rural Vermont surroundings.
        Jen has won numerous awards for her glass
work, and exhibits her unique pieces in many fine
art galleries and juried craft shows nationwide.
Her work makes a unique statement in any decor.
