                 Jen Violette, About the Artist

Jen Violette began working with glass when
she was 19 during her sophomore year at Alfred University, and received her BFA from Alfred in 1994.  She has been creating with glass for over
16 years.  She has studied at Rhode Island School of Design, Pilchuck Glass School, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, The Studio at the Corning Museum of Glass and Penland School of Crafts.  Her teachers include Lino Tagliapietra, William Morris, Dante Marioni, Richard Marquis, Pino Signoretto, Randy Walker and Karen Willenbrink-Johnsen.
Currently, Jen and her husband, John Gerding are living on a small farm in southern Vermont, where they are converting their 100 year old post and beam barn into Jen’s glass studio.  Jen is an
avid gardener, and draws great inspiration for her pieces from her rural Vermont surroundings.
Jen has won numerous awards for her glass work, and exhibits her unique pieces in many fine art galleries and juried craft shows nationwide.
Her work adds a unique artistic presence to any decor.
